Tablet rumors currently are dime a dozen – RIM has already been named multiple times.

CNet now quotes a Rodman&Renshaw analyst as follows:

“Research In Motion (RIMM, Market Perform) is trying to pull forward the launch of the 7-inch touchscreen tablet from early next year to year end…with a marginal point of differentiation being the front- and back-facing cameras for videoconferencing,” he said in a research note Friday morning.

Given that each and every mobile device maker tries to keep carriers from establishing relationships with new partners (more info here), it is only too natural that RIM wants to offer something to keep its partners from ganging up with Apple…
