At Pwn2Own this year, BlackBerry was one of the OSes whose security was compromised by hackers (other being much touted and secure iOS). In wake of this discovery, RIM has issued a bulletin for people.

The security compromise is achieved through a vulnerability in Javascript (javascript is the most exploited of ‘em all). This vulnerability affects users who are on BlackBerry OS 6.0 or higher and might allow an attacker to gain access to data stored on the media card or in the media storage area built into BlackBerry devices. However, the email, calendar, contact, or application store data remain unaffected by the vulnerability.

The best way to fix it? simply turn off the Javascript in your BlacBerry browser. We hope RIM comes up with a solution soon….!
