Sounds a bit crazy, but a http://apk2bar.unker.net/ is a website that converts your Android .apk files pretty quick and slick to .bar files. These .bar files can then be run on the PlayBook.
All you have to do is to get an .apk file, upload it to http://apk2bar.unker.net/ , and voila, the website does the rest. Though it takes some time to convert the file, but it is not known if it is due to the server load or the conversion process?
