I seriously wish RIM had fewer woes. The already hammered RIM is now facing a fresh issue, this time it is the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 devices that are reported of not waking up after being left for charging overnight.

RIM has acknowledged this via an official statement

[A] limited number of customers have reported an issue where their device does not power on. [We] are actively working on a software update to resolve this issue.

The problem has to be a major one or else RIM would not release any statement on the issue.

Let us hope RIM quickly rectifies the problem and does not attract more trouble.

Good news A1 customers…!! Those of you who have a BlackBerry 9900 in possession can now download and install the latest firmware from A1 servers as official firmware 7.0.0.503 is now available for BlackBerry Bold 9900.

The exe file is 217MB in size and can be downloaded  from http://software.a1.net/bb/.

While a software upgrade is highly desirable due to the new features and bug-fixes it brings, it is most important to back up your data before doing any upgrade. Also, upgrade is a risky thing. If anything goes wrong, you might render your phone useless. So proceed with care and at your own risk…!!

The BlackBerry Bold 9900, Curve 9360 and Torch 9860 are all coming to AT&T. We know that, don’t we, but what we don’t know is that while the 9900 and 9860 are coming on November 6th 2011, the Curve 9360 is coming on November 20th on the AT&T network.

According to Engadget,

With two-year commitments, the Bold 9900 will wind up costing $200, the Torch 9860 can be yours for $100 and the Curve 9360 will be a mere $30. The Torch appears to be destined only for virtual shelves right now, though we’re not certain if it’ll be making a physical appearance in retail stores any time soon.

Nothing much to add here.
